As Ramadan almost draws to a close, we sit wondering whether we did enough to reap its blessings.

Ramadan is indeed a spiritually uplifting time for many, but it can be a great struggle for others - both mentally and physically. We persevere, however, and do our best. After all, Allah swt does not want to overburden us but rather motivate us to improve within ourselves and our worship. It’s more about increasing God Consciousness more than anything else.

Ramadan brings people together - in our homes, in mosques and at community iftars. Food, like always, becomes the key feature for people coming together and sharing moments of reflection of their day.

Some stay up during the midst of the night - sleep deprived and completely immersed in the love of Allah swt. Pouring out their hearts to the Lord Most High! Others on the other hand can’t wait to sleep 😴.

The last ten nights of Ramadan can become quite emotional - after all Ramadan is a guest for twenty-nine or thirty days! Saying farewell to a guest can often lead to a little anxiety. Especially this guest because it reminds us of how we should actually be towards each other as Muslims and to non-Muslims alike.

We do our best to make a difference in people’s lives by giving as much charity as we can. That’s the beauty of Ramadan, we give without or very little questioning because we want to reap as many rewards as possible. Yet there are also those people who do not seek rewards. They simply give for the pleasure of Allah swt.

This is the beauty of Ramadan!

We pray in these last ten nights that we have the honour of recieving Ramadan again next year and all our prayers are answered - In’Sha’Allah Ameen!

We pray that we have received from its mercy, forgiveness and salvation from the hellfire Ameen!

We pray that we increase in thankfulness and God Consciousness Ameen!

Yours truly,

The Servant
